主講人簡介：

陳毅恒，資深統計學者，擔任香港中文大學、香港科技大學、美國卡耐基梅隆大學(Carnegie Mellon University)教授，美國印第安納大學 (Indiana University-Bloomington)助理教授。一直從事數理統計學的研究，具體研究方向為時間序列、網絡結構和金融計量。1991年當選國際統計學會（ISI）會員，其后分別當選國際數理學會會士IMS Fellow（2001）和美國統計學會會士ASA Fellow（2006），2009年榮獲香港統計學會頒授終身榮譽會員，2013年獲選教育部頒授長江學者特聘教授（2013-2016）。在統計學領域的國際頂尖期刊上發表論文數十篇。先后于知名統計期刊Journal of the American Statistical Association、Journal of Business and Economic Statistics、Statistica Sinica、Bernoulli、Econometric Theory、Electronic Journal of Statistics擔任編委，現為Journal of Time Series Analysis、Journal of Forecasting 、International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance 主編。

內容提要：

This talk will review some of the statistical techniques used in the analysis and detection of one of the most commonly encountered eye diseases, Glaucoma. By means of some of the recent artificial intelligence algorithms, ophthalmologists are employing modern machine learning technologies such as CNN and its variates to assist in early detection of eye symptoms in Glaucoma studies. This talk will address some of the related issues and discuss the potential of statistical ideas in these studies. Some examples will be given.

這次講座將回顧一些用于分析和檢測最常見眼部疾病之一——青光眼的統計技術。通過一些最新的人工智能算法，眼科醫生正在采用現代機器學習技術，如卷積神經網絡（CNN）及其變體，來幫助早期檢測青光眼研究中的眼部癥狀。這次講座將討論相關問題，并探討統計方法在這些研究中的潛力，還會給出一些例子。
